Wisbech East

Wisbech East

Postby Alan » Sun Jan 09, 2011 4:37 pm

I have been mulling over what to do next, now that Outwell is almost complete. With my limited time and money I have been thinking of Wisbech East Station. Mainly because I could use the stock from Outwell, with the some addition.
Also as the location is the start of the Wisbech & Upwell Tramway the two layouts could run together or stand alone.
The pics below show what is possible I think on 8 x 2 foot scenic boards. Which I hope will give a good representation of the station and the tram shed and stableing area. It is just a mock up to see what is obtainable in the space available, I have had to loose some of the track in the yard. But hopefully that doesn't detract from what I am trying to achieve.

That shows promise Alan, do I recognise the boards and platforms as being from the old roundy roundy layout and will Wisbech East feature a continuous run too?

Yes Neil the boards are from the old layout, and roundy roundy may be possible.

Although no track has been laid for the new layout, as its been to cold to work in the garage. I thought I would make a start on some of the structures for the above. First up is the water tower which stood at the entrance to the tram shed yard. Standing at 23 feet high and would top up each tram before it set out on every journey.

The supporting frame work is made from balsa and the tank is plasticard.

23ft high: That is considered a skyscraper in that part of Cambridgeshire!
