I can report that as of this am the electrical department has signed off Margery Street subject to a final erection and fitment of a "ground signal". I trust the cheque will be in the post and not "post dated". :scratch

I'm sure your 'final erection' will be something to behold John!

As the DEMU deadline approaches the pace quickens!

Hi Guys

Don’t think I can make Showcase to have a butchers at it. Beginning to get that widen lines feel, just not too sure it would have that much greenery in the 70s. My memory of travelling along the line most weekends during the time modelled was of everything being still soot covered black. Things started to become cleaner during the 80s and plant life became noticeable in the 90s.

Anyhow for the LMR services to the wonderful town of Bedford, have you a 116 DMU with three power cars? They ran in four car trains of a DMBS (cab country end), DMS(cab country end), TS, DMBS or DMS (cab London end) and for a short time there was a 122 in one of the trains.

Just wondering if there any up coming exhibition dates for this. If not and any chance of some new photos with trains on them.

A quick update. The layout is booked into a couple of shows next year. The next time it will be seen in any glory is Rail Express Modeller as it is due to appear over the coming months. I don't have the details of which issue but Simon tells me he would like to feature soon.
In the mean time, I'll try to get some piccies taken of the train set.

Just a quick update. Margery Street is featured in the new issue of Rail Express magazine along with a rather excellent article by Alan Monk on the mk1 suburbans.

Well I don't know about lovely! First outing is at the EMGS AGM being held in Thirsk in just over a week. Hopefully it will look ok, but is really a test track for me in the workshop.
