An LMS built van still in use by BR

Postby iak » Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:46 am

Some LMS vans had long lives, even if they ended up in the Engineers fleet.
This Ratio Kit has had some noodling and will end up as a van in the service of one of the Crewe Depts
Evergreen strip is just the ticket here.

The below image shows how some bracing is essential with vans of any sort.
I always try and put two in so the chance of any "bowing" in is totally stopped.

Brake gear on this are by Masokits.
Good in their day but maybe a touch clunky now?
Maybe I'm just being silly

Hi Iain,

Young Gavin has been wielding his trusty airbrush today and selected 4 of your wagons as suitable victims.

Here they are sat drying at the club earlier this evening :-

Well its another shock then... :?
Yes, this project is actually finished!!

A Dia.2039 van in all it scabby glory, ending its days with the Engineers at Crewe.
The auld Ratio kit is a versatile and adaptable beastie for it age; I think that shows that it was nae bad to start with, when first released...

Image

The close-up is a bit OTT maybe but it show again how the ALPS printed decals just allow one to model the niceties ;)
