Former LNER Vans

Postby iak » Thu Jan 20, 2011 3:01 pm

Well the production line keeps rolling along..............

Image
One as was built and one with the BR modification to vacuum braking.
Buffers again by LMS.
Door handles to b done in nickel silver wire on both as well.
I do need to have another look at these to see if any other titbits can be fettled a wee bit as well.

Image
The brake gear will again be Masokits etches here.
The tiebars will some of Craig Welsh's etches - tasty :drool

Image
Mainly Trains etches here as I think they look better than the Parkside mouldings; I know I'm a picky bugger

Some better images of the progress here...

The LNER brake gear is done using the Mainly Trains etch here.
Its maybe not state of the art but it works and you get a nice vacuum cylinder in the pack
Buffers are LMS ones [that nice Mr Franks]
Screw links are a combination of Exactoscale hooks and Masokits etches 8-)

Hi Dave,

I'll be seeing Iain at the next club session and he'll be getting the 'strap' for this crime.

[vivid memories of being the lone English pupil at Brediland primary school outside Paisley in the mid 1960s come flooding back - every schools radio programme seemed to be about William Wallace or Robert the Bruce. I was never particularly good at reciting Burns either ........... ]

Cheers,

Richard
