Did'nt Chris Pendleton and later Karl Crowther mention this ducket problem in their articles for MRJ?

We certainly didn't do anything about the ducket position on the std. brake vans built for Mostyn in the first two batches (as described in this thread). It'll be interesting to see how the Hornby-based models compare - we may have to keep them apart on the layout ......... :oops:
